Valentine's Day...
Valentine's Day has been well known for lovers to celebrate the special day, and it has been commercialized until the real value of the Valentine's Day has been taken over by the necessary to over spend with special gifts and romantic dinners. Well, the truth of the Valentine's Day is a day where everyone is to celebrate and spend more time with their loved ones...your family, mum, dad, your siblings, your best friends and even your peers. It's a day where you express thanks and love to the ones that you appreciate and love.
So this year, it's my first year to celebrate this special "love day" with my beloved son, Eric Tee and my dear hubby. Unfortunately, my son was sick on that day, all thanks to the hazy weather and air which caused my son to fall sick with terrible cough, block nose and running nose. Anyway, my hubby and I still celebrate the Valentine's Day but this year we decided to have a homemade relaxing Valentine. We would not be joining the crowded restaurants serving only special "lovers meal" and at the same time we can save some cost (since it's economy downturn now)...
I gave my hubby an itech bluetooth headset which he really needed so he was really delighted about it. Hehehe...
And his gift for me is a homecook Valentine's 3 course meal dinner with a western theme
The dinner turned out to be great sumptuous dinner with relaxing peaceful Valentine together. I was so touched by his effort on preparing such a nice dinner for us and the food tasted so nice....even better than the food served at restaurant which we have been in our last Valentine. Here are some snapshots of the so called "romantic" dinner.
The mushroom soup as the appetizer and the main course was the roasted chicken with grilled shrimps. The rosated chicken was marinated and roasted with perfection. And the shrimps were very fresh and juicy. And we had sparkling grape juice and ice cream cake for dessert.

Like Mom, Like Son...
My mom told me that my little Eric looks like me when I was a baby. Therefore, one day I decided to take out all my baby's photos and check them out to compare if it is true. And to my surprise....the baby I saw in the photos are alike my baby Eric...Do you believe it??? -
After a long spell of silence...hello 2009!
It's been ages since I login to my xanga account and update my blog. If you ask why then there will be a long list of excuses for that...therefore, I shall just skip that part.
Just some news update on my side what has been happening....let's see....where shall I start?? Hmmm....
Oh ya I am expecting my 2nd child now....in my 4th month ++ now...and the sex of the baby is still unknown as my gynea was not able to confirm the sex of the fetus yet. It will be my last baby as I am targeting to the most 2 babies of my own
My expected due is early of July (probabbly 6-8 July).
My Eric baby now has already turned ONE on the 8th February....yeah!!!! He is learning to walk now and this means I am getting busier with him now...My hubby and I are his watch guards at home to make sure he doesn't knock on things and get himself into any danger situation. But frankly, this time is the happiest and cutest time as I am laughing to myself seeing my son walking like a little ducky with his butt shaking right and left. And he has become more michievious and cheeky with his cute antics which makes you laugh and adore him instead of getting angry with him. Ahahahaha...it's a really beautiful part of parenthood
On the career side, dark gloomy clouds seem to come by with no increment and low bonus this year 2009. Everyone is so demotivated to work but work seems to be piling up with more workload and pushing from boss these days....I don't really like the job environment now as the management is getting more "kiam" and only thinking about themselves...And this means....I have to cut down my spending too and save money for Eric baby and my coming soon 2nd one...Anyway with such economy and politic situation, I don't even want to waste my money on the selfish federal government. Life still goes on with the monthly credit card bill, car loan, mortagage loan and other household expenses....etc..but with more cautious in spending.
On the brighter side, a few of my coursemates have registered and even get married.. Congrats to Hsiou Ling and Huey Ween!!!! May you both have a wonderful marriage life and live happily ever after! We can share our feelings and experience of being a married lady whenever you are free to do so....
Well, happy 2009 to everyone and may this OX year brings everyone good health, good luck and happiness!

The feakiest paper ever taken!
By reading the title many would think "What is the freakiest paper?". Is it SPM, STPM, A-Level, etc...??
Well, in my own opinion, GRE is the craziest yet freakiest paper which I ever sit for. GRE stands for Graduate Record Examination, and GRE General Test measures verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, and critical thinking and analytical writing skills. It is a standardized test as requirement for many graduate admission in US.
Each section is given a limited time to complete it and the total hours to complete the test is 4 grueling hours!! Just imagine you need to complete a 30-question Math's section in 30 minutes time, and you are given 30 minutes to complete a 38-question Verbal section with the difficul-level of vocab. It's totaly crazy and I wasn't able to complete any of the sections in 30 minutes time even though I tried to solve all the maths questions like a bullet train...And the worst part is that you can even get to think on the Verbal test as the section consist of Vocab relationship, Antonyms, Fill in the blanks and 2 comprehensions...Just imagine...completing all these 38 questions in 30 minutes...sound crazy, isn't it??
It was the most difficult test I have ever sat and I would say it's not a very impressive exam at all...as it is not realistic in the questioning. Anyway, enough of the complain, and I am so glad that the exam is finally over and back to my reality.
Now I can just wait for next 8 weeks for the result to be sent to my home. Wish myself luck and see how well I score later...I didn't put much hope for a fantastic score...just an average score that is able to get me a placing will be good enough.

Check out my son's blog!
Do you know my little Eric Tee does blog too?? He has his own blog and he usually blogs with my laptop when I'm back home. He loves the laptop so much by hitting the buttons, so in the end I suggested to him to open an account so he can blog about himself.
Feel free to check out his blog at http://eric-tee.blogspot.com
Enjoy!!!

Mooncake festival celebration
I went back to my hometown at Ipoh last weekend for Mooncake festival celebration. Some people called Mooncake festival as Lantern festival or Mid-Autumn Festival too. It falls on the 15th day of the 8th lunar month of the Chinese calendar (usually around mid- or late-September in the Gregorian calendar. On the night of the festival, you will surely see a big round brightly-lit moon. There is a Chinese legend on why Chinese celebrates Mooncake festival. To find out on the legend/story about how Mooncake Festival started, please read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mid-Autumn_Festival. So now you know why it's called Mooncake festival.
I had a small family gathering with my family and my relatives. We had mooncakes and curry chicken buns to eat, chinese tea to drink and we played lanterns to celebrate the occasion. My sisters and I played with our cousins while my mum was busy chatting with her sisters, and my hubby....oh well...sitting there to look at us playing with lanterns. What a boring man he was....didn't want to join us young girls to play, instead sitting there looking at people playing and chatting. Anyway, all of us had fun that night! Even my baby Eric was busy looking and trying to grab on the brightly-lit lanterns...ahahahha...
Here are some snapshots of the festive night...
The colourful brightly-lit lanterns
Hey this is me with the lanterns as background..
Everyone was having a great time...eating, drinking and chatting...
Here is my boring hubby and me taking photos together...to get him off the boredom..hehe

Vacation at Koh Samui -- Last Day
The fourth day of my vacation, which is also my last day at Koh Samui. We woke up late that day as there was not much of activity to do for the last day and we decided to just stay in the room to relax until the checkout time.

Picture taken right outside my hotel room...
By 12 noon, we checkout from our hotel and headed to the airport by taxi. We waited a while at the airport and got some souvenirs before boarding on our plane...Firefly to go back to Penang.
Ready to board on the plane...
In the plane..heading back to Penang...bye bye Koh Samui!!!!
It was a nice and enjoyable trip. It was a simple holiday but it means a lot to me as I was rejuvenated after the holiday. -
Vacation at Koh Samui -- Day 3
We woke up early on the 3rd day of our trip as it was our "Island hopping" day. We have signed up for a island hopping trip to Koh Tao and Koh Nang Yuan for RM150 per person with Grand Discovery. It was a day trip with snorkeling equipments, free flow of drinks, lunch and small towel provided. By 7.30am, there was a van to pick us up from hotel to the jetty to board on our speedboat.

Here we are...Grand Discovery office and jetty.
Everyone was waiting to get on board...
Finally, we got seats for both of us right at the back of the boat's cabin.
By 9am, the boat man started to take the boat to the vast open sea heading towards Koh Tao island. It's quite a smooth ride with little bumps here and there when we encountered some waves. The journey took about an hour and half before we reach our snorkelling destination at Koh Tao, which was the Mango Bay. We stopped at Mango bay for our snorkeling. The bay area was a nice spot for snorkeling as there were a numbers of corals to been seen and there was plenty of fish but not as colourful as those in Redang Island. Nevertheless, many corals were dead around the spot.

At Mango Bay...
Wet wet Irene and Chin Long...
Anyway, we snorkeled for an hour before we were took to Koh Tao main island for our lunch. It was not a buffet lunch but a set lunch prepared for you on the table.
This was our lunch with Fried chicken, fried egg, tomyam chicken soup and fried veggie. Fruits were served too.
After a simple lunch, we took a short walk around Koh Tao just to check out the area. It ws a beautiful island with white sandy beach just like Redang. But the beach was not a vast as Redang.
Next we headed to Koh Nang Yuan island, which was claimed to be one of the most beautiful islands in the world way back 30 years ago. It was also called a "turtle" island as it has a turtle shell shape.

The panorama view of beautiful Koh Nang Yuan island. The island consists of 3 islands attaching to each other with sandy beach.
Upon arrival, we walked up to the sandy white beach...The sand was really smooth and fine...
We can snorkel around the beach or climb up to the top hill to get the scenic view of Koh Nang Yuan. My hubby and I decided to climb up the hill to get the spectacular view. It was quite a challenging route to climb all the way up. It took us about 15-30mins to get up to the top.
Arrival at Koh Nang Yuan island....at the jetty
See the white sandy beach??!!!
We have to climb up those steps in order to get up to the top...see how steep it was???
Finally, we were up on the hill...the scenic view of Koh Nang Yuan...my hubby and I.
The close up photo of Koh Nang Yuan island.
After taking some pictures at the top of the hill, we got down to the beach and relaxed. We did a bit of snorkeling but there were no corals and fish to see. Almost all the corals were dead but there were a lot of sea cucumbers. I was taking full precaution not to step on any of those creepy sea cucumbers. In addition, there were quite a number of sea rambutans too in the sea...Those are big giant sea rambutans with large thorns. It's really dangerous to swim barefoot while snorkeling as it was easy to get pricked by the thorns if you were not aware of them. After seeing the danger, I then went back to the shore and just lay down on the sand for a shot sunbathing....hehehe..
By 4pm, we headed back to the speed boat to get ready for departure. While waiting for everyone to board on the boat, my hubby and I took some pictures together just for fun...

All wet and sticky...happy couple!!
Me relaxing at the boat....
We had a bumpy ride along the way back to Koh Samui as it was raining and the waves were really big....Water splashing on to our body and the air was so cool....But it was a fun experience...and we did not need to worry as the boat man was really experienced navigator. We headed back to our hotel and relaxed.
By nightfall, we walked to a nearby seafood restaurant for dinner. We were tired and lazy to go out after a tiring day. We had a simple dinner of Thai food. We went to bed early that night as all of us were dead tired....
-
It's the 2nd day of my Samui trip....I woke up very early in the morning...after a good night sleep (without any baby's cries in the middle of the night). I went to take a stroll along the so-called seaside at the hotel to explore how nice the beach is. To my disappointment, there is no sandy beach...it's a rocky beach with all the big rocks along the seaside....which I couldn't swim or dip into the sea...

Rise and shine....the "Rocks"
Here is the so called the rocky beach seaside...
After a short stroll and nothing to see along the beach...the sea was so calm and peaceful..my hubby and I decided to go for our buffet breakfast at the cafe. And here is the the buffet corner...

The food served was pretty good with a variety of selection to choose...
Here's my breakfast for the day!!!
It's a sumptuous breakfast and we kickstart our exploration around the island right after breakfast. Off on our bike, we started off to Lamai beach which is the southern part of Samui. Once we reach the beach, we were pretty disappointed to find that Lamai beach was not as beautiful and clean as Chaweng beach. The sand here was rough and pricky, and the sea water was not as crystal clear as at Chaweng's. No wonder there wasn't many people at the beach and it was a little quiet compared to Chaweng beach. Anyway, we took some pictures and had a brief walk along the beach.
Lamai Beach
Happy couple by the beach...
After that, we continued our journey to visit the infamous grandfather and grandmother rocks. In Thai, they are called Hinta and Hinyai. It was one of the spots which was recommended in many Samui's tourist brouchures.
Here we are...
You must be wondering what hinta and hinyai rocks mean, right? Well, i didn't know what they were until I was there. Actually, the rocks bear a resemblance to the private parts of male and female, and both rocks were right opposite each other...which therefore created many people's attention to them...
This is Hinta rock (grandfather rock). It does look alike to the male's part, right?
And this is Hinyai rock (grandmother rock). It looked like female's part.
After a short stop at Hinta and Hinyai, we took off to Chaweng town. Chaweng town was really happening as there were many shops and things to see. We parked our bike by the roadside and took a long walk along the long-stretch of Chaweng beach road. As we walked we saw a lot of Thai massage centres. We finally picked one of the shops and got our Thai massage too.
This was the shop we went for Thai Massage. For a full 1- hour body massage with oilment, it was only RM35 per person.
Here was the bed area where I had my massage. Those Thai ladies were really good at the massage as it really relaxed my muscles and relieved any stiffness around my shoulder and neck. I highly recommend anyone who go to Thailand to go for the Thai massage.
After an hour of relaxation, i rejuvenated from the exhaustion which i had earlier on. We continued to walk along the Chaweng beach road. We suddenly saw a man in motorbike selling local ice-cream and it's only RM1 (10 Bath). I bought an ice-cream with cone...The ice-cream flavour was vanilla with a little corn in it, and the man put those fillings of longan, atapci, corn or sago in the ice-cream cone before putting the ice-cream on top of the filling. It's really special with the fillings inside the cone. And it tasted so good...you can choose to have the fillings or not when you make the order. Here's the snapshot of the ice-cream man...
While we were walking, we passed by at McDonald's and found that it served Pork in their burgers. Can you imagine having pork in your Big Mag, Cheese burger and Samurai burger? Well, i went to buy a Big Mag with pork in it and it was super delicious...yummy!!!! It was so juicy and tasty... Too bad Malaysia's McD doesn't serve such thing....(disappointed)
Ronald and I outside the McD ~Sawadika~
Can you see the word "Samurai Pork Burger"???
After a light snack, we walked back to our bike and went back to our hotel for a short break. We went to take a dip into the Hotel's infinity pool to relax and have some fun. When it was dinner time, we decided to have a great feast that night. We planned to go to Zico's (Brazillian Bar Restaurant). It's a buffet style with various serving of roasted meat - chicken, lamb, pork ribs, pork chop, steak, beef sirloin, tiger prawns, and fish (salmon, tuna, seabass & cod fish). There was also a salad bar whereby you can get your salad, fruits and appetizers there in buffet style. And the environment of the restaurant was fantastic...with dimmed romantic lights, beautiful settings and light music to dazzle the night. They even had live dance and bottle juggling performances. My hubby and I had a great sumptuous dinner that night.
Welcome to Zico's!
This is the salad bar...pretty cool huh with all the variety of food!!
Me enjoying my dinner and the nice environment

The live dance performance by the ladies dressed in sexy outfits.
The bottle juggling performance...
After dinner, we took a brisk walk along the Chaweng road to burn some fats before we headed back to hotel to call the day off...hehehe...
There we saw many restuarants were opened for dinner...and there were many restaurants serving seafood BBQ. Check out some of the pictures of what I had captured for the night...
Glorious seafood....
The chef was actually roasting a whole pig at the kitchen right in front of the roadside...cool!!!
